Maybe it was learning about Preservation Hall West opening in the Mission or watching Interview With The Vampire on late night television that has got me longing for a really good beignet. Thinking about that sweltering summer, the brass band playing in the street and the dark, desolate walks to Frenchman Street. The French Quarter has been on my mind. Admiring the wrought iron balconies, hidden gardens and layers upon layers of weathered paint and rust. It’s haunting in its craftsmanship and beauty.  Going through boxes in the studio, I came across some images which I took on a trip in August of 2005, just before Hurricane Katrina. I only found a few shots, but these were some of my favorites. Till next time. K
