raised garden beds from old drawers
At a barn sale late this spring I found these 2 oversized redwood drawers. Each drawer is about 62” x 23” and a little under 2 feet deep. I knocked out the bottoms and my husband added some extra wood along the sides to help with the stability since the bottoms were now gone. I sealed the front of the drawers with a water based sealant since the paint was beginning to chip. I tiered the drawers and planted cherry tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, cukes and chives in the top. Nasturtiums and mini pumpkins occupy the bottom drawer.
My favorite aspect is the handles, they are so ornate. Using old handles and knobs would be a great embellishment to any garden especially a tiered garden bed. K
